Morigaon College is one of the foremost educational institutions in Morigaon District. The Department of Political Science was established in the same year of the establishment of the college in the year 1964. But the major course started in the year 1984. At the beginning, the department started with four teachers viz; late Ghanakanta Medhi as Head of the Department and other faculty members- late Heramba Goswami, Ganesh Ch. Medhi and Dr Idris Ali. G.
